What the Bible says about Homosexuality
Written by Florencio de los Santos
– 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not err; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminates, nor those who lie with men, nor thieves, nor misers, nor drunkards, nor cursing men, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God ” .
This is only a portion of so many pointed out by the Bible about people who because of their sinfulness will not enter the Kingdom of God, if they do not repent and withdraw from their activities, although some religions want to guarantee it, the Holy Scriptures will prevent. And if we believe that the Bible is the Word of God, then let’s pay attention to the information on each subject, so as not to have unpleasant surprises at the end of the road (death).
But Christ is calling repentance to all who have gone astray. He died for the liar, the drunk, the womanizer, the thief, the adulterer, the sorcerer or the homosexual, among others, who want to accept and follow him. We are all sinners and we need to be saved, not just gays and lesbians.
In the book of Genesis 19: 1-30 God destroyed a group of cities because of homosexuality, the most famous of which are Sodom and Gomorrah (based on this premise, those who continue those practices are called sodomites).
Today, in many cities, those who speak like God in his Word about homosexuality are being penalized: condemning it. Also, if you look down on traditional marriage, there are no problems. If someone wants to “come out of the closet” there are a large number of institutions and even federal funds in different countries to provide assistance. But if someone wants to leave that life or asks for help because they are confused, then there is no assistance; and there have been many cases of pastors and Christian institutions that have been penalized for trying to help.
-In Leviticus 18:22, God says: “You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is abomination. ”
.-In Leviticus 20:13, God ordains: “If any one should associate with a man as with a woman, they did abomination; both are to be killed; upon them will be his blood. ”
.-In Deuteronomy 23:17, God commands: “There will be no harlot among the daughters of Israel, nor will there be a sodomite among the sons of Israel.”
– 1 Kings 14:24, “There were also sodomites in the land, and they did according to all the abominations of the nations that the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.”
.- 1 Kings 15: 11-12, “Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, like David his father. Because he removed the Sodomites from the country and removed all the idols that their parents had made. ”
.- 1 Kings 22:43, 46, “And Jehoshaphat walked in all the way of Asa his father without deviating from him, doing what was right in the eyes of the Lord […] He also swept from the earth the rest of the sodomites who had stayed in the time of his father Asa. ”
– Romans 1: 26-27, “For this reason God gave them over to shameful passions; for even their women exchanged the natural use for that which is against nature, and in the same way the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, became lustful with each other, committing shameful acts men with men, and receiving in themselves the retribution due to their loss. ”
.- 1 Timothy 1: 9-10, “Knowing this, that the law was not given for the just, but for transgressors and disobedience, for the wicked and sinners, for the irreverent and profane, for parricides and matricides, for the murderers, for the fornicators, for the sodomites, for the kidnappers, for the liars and perjurers, and for all who oppose sound doctrine. ”
– Judas 7, “Like Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring cities, which in the same way as those, having fornicated and went after vices against nature, were put for example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.”
There are many other scriptures parallel to these on what God thinks of homosexuality.
