This Friday marks two months since the first case of coronavirus was registered in the Dominican Republic, which to date has killed 313 people and keeps 7,288 infected.
According to bulletin # 43 issued by the Ministry of Public Health this Friday, May 1, in the last 24 hours 316 new positive cases of coronavirus were registered, and 12 new deaths.
While 1,387 patients have been discharged after overcoming the disease, of which 79.74% (1106) correspond to the National District, Santo Domingo, Santiago, Duarte and La Vega.
In the last 4 weeks, the positivity in the processed samples is 24.49%.
Regarding the suspected cases, the minister reported that 21,158 cases have been discarded through laboratory tests, based on a total of 28,446 PCR tests processed since the virus was registered in the country.
Of the infected patients, 1,332 are isolated in hospitals, while 4,256 remain in home isolation and / or in government-licensed shelters.
Most of the cases confirmed by coronavirus are distributed in five provinces, with the National District being the most affected district with a cumulative of 1,814 cases, followed by Santo Domingo with 1,427 cases, Santiago with 860, the Duarte province with 632 and La Vega. with 513 positives.
By place of residence, most of the deaths have been registered in the Duarte province (76), another 49 in the Santo Domingo province, 41 in the National District, 51 in Santiago, 13 in the Hermanas Mirabal province and 13 in Puerto Silver.
